This is a great photo of a lion cub. Especially since you bent down to take the photo, makes it even better. I like the detail here, along with the fur and how the lion cub is coming into the photo instead of being centered. The eyes and mouth have great detail as well, as with the whiskers.

But I can't help but feel this photo is played around with too much. Even if you didn't play around with it, it has too much saturation because the grass steals the moment that is supposed to be the lion cub's moment here. Due to him being white surrounded by color makes the grass pop out much more, even the dead grass is in more detail than the lion cub.

May I suggest a little less contrast, a tad more brightness, lessen the saturation, not where it's black and white, but where the grass does not stand out. And maybe up the color warmth on the yellow side to bring the lion cub out so much more. I see so much great potential here, it's just needs to be edited a bit for it to pop out.

If I were taking a photo like this, I would've bent down as well, but I also would've had my camera set on burst mode taken well over 30-40 photos from the cub walking to me. I would've preferred to see his whole body, tail included when walking. Even though he is entering the photo which is good, but without the full body you can't really tell if it's a lion cub or not. The title states it is a lion cub, but from this angle taken with the grass, it looks more like backyard puppie than a lion cub. Whenever you take a photo of something smaller than you, it is important to get as low as your subject, even lower.

Overall, I find this to be a great photo with alot of potential. Just experiment with it to see where you like it. I don't know what you're editing program is. I have Vista Windows Photo Gallery for quick fix edits. Just experiment around. One of my friends on here- *Q-tipper takes wonderful lion cub photos. You should check her out. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b…" width="15" height="15" alt=":D" title=":D (Big Grin)" />
